Porsche P1 Electric Car

Porsche P1 Electric Motor The first car constructed and built by Ferdinand Porsche was the Egger-Lohner electric vehicle, C.2 Phaeton model known as the “P1” for short. Powered by a 3 hp electric motor that could be overloaded to 5 hp, the 1350 kgs vehicle could reach 21 mph. With a range up to 50 miles it went on to win the 1899 International Motor Vehicle Exhibition race, beating a high number of petrol vehicles. The P1 can be viewed in the Stuttgart Porsche Museum along with more than 80 other vehicles and many small exhibits.
